Bug reports
Send a bug report or a feature request from the game, and the commands that help find a problem.
Report from the game #
- Run
/buildprint reportin chat, or click Write a report... next to Report a problem in the Help tab of the settings. - Choose Bug or Feature request, give it a title and say what happened: what you did, what went wrong and what you expected.
- Under Attached you see everything that goes with it: your system, your mods, BuildPrint's state, the game log and a screenshot. Click one to leave it out, or to see exactly what is sent. Names, folder paths, addresses and chat are taken out first.
- Click Send. Nothing leaves your computer before that.
- A contact is optional. Add your Discord name, or sign in, if you want an answer.
- When a report you sent gets an answer, the game tells you, with a button to read it. The reports you sent are under Sent on the same screen.
- After a crash or an error in BuildPrint, chat offers once to send a report. Offer to report errors in the Help tab turns that off.
You can also ask on Discord. A picture or a short clip helps.
Commands for finding a problem #
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/buildprintdebug report | Writes the versions, your settings and every loaded build to logs/latest.log, to send along with a report. |
/buildprintdebug dirlog on | Logs every barrel, piston, observer or crafter placed: the way it should face and what the server made of it. For blocks that land turned wrong. |
/buildprintdebug printlog on | Logs every block the printer tries and what held it back. For the printer stopping. |
/buildprintdebug profiler on | Shows timings on screen and logs slow frames. For lag. |
/buildprintdebug hardcoded off | Turns off BuildPrint's special cases for single blocks, to tell whether a problem is about one block. On by default. |
The logging commands are off by default. Turn them off again with off. /buildprintdebug on its own lists them, and whether each is on.
Known issues #
- Waterlogged blocks are not placed unless the experimental water bucket setting is on.
- Invisible item icons after switching shaders are a bug in Iris on Minecraft 26.2. Scroll through the creative item list once to bring them back.
